OssolaVR was created to showcase the Val d'Ossola through virtual reality, letting you explore natural settings, trails and alpine views in an immersive, true-to-life way.
The project combines VR technology, 360° imagery and 3D environments to offer an experience that previews the real journey, helps you plan your hikes, or simply lets you discover the region from anywhere.

Virtual reality as a window onto the mountains of the Ossola
Using 3D reconstruction, photogrammetry and digital modelling, we recreate authentic Ossola landscapes — trails, woodlands, villages and mountain huts — to experience first-hand.

Slip on the VR headset and let ambient sound, dynamic light and detailed visuals modelled on the real places give you a genuine sense of presence.

Pick the route you want to take: a woodland trail, a high-altitude walk or a visit to a mountain hut.

Move freely through the 3D environment and interact with what is around you, powered by an advanced real-time graphics engine.
An alpine region between Piedmont and Switzerland
Crossed by the river Toce and ringed by the Pennine and Lepontine Alps, the Val d'Ossola offers green valleys, alpine lakes, spectacular waterfalls and peaks rising above 4,000 metres, all the way to the Monte Rosa massif.
Val Formazza
Famous for the Toce Waterfall, one of the highest in Europe, and for its high-altitude scenery.
Valle Antigorio
Carved by the Toce, it is known for the Orrido di Uriezzo gorge, the mineral springs of Crodo and its stone-built villages.
Val Vigezzo
The “Valley of Painters”, rich in historic villages and artistic traditions.
Val Bognanco
Renowned for its thermal springs and trails deep in unspoilt nature.
Valle Anzasca
Known for its mines, its Walser houses and its setting at the foot of Monte Rosa.
Valle Antrona
Wild and unspoilt, home to Lake Antrona and protected by the Alta Valle Antrona Nature Park.
Val Grande
Home to the National Park, the largest wilderness area in the Alps.
